Alan Blake
PAC NEXT US Director

Alan brings a brand owner perspective with more than 20 years at Procter & Gamble in packaging research and development.

He was the corporate leader for P&G’s global Packaging Sustainability program supporting the company’s long-term vision which states that all packaging can be reduced, reused, recycled, and promotes the use of recycled materials.

Jim Downham
PAC President & CEO

Jim brings more than 40+ years of packaging manufacturing and association management experience to the project. A former package manufacturing CEO, Jim has been a member of the Packaging Hall of Fame Judges Commission since 2018. Jim was the visionary who created IFS PAC SECURE, PAC NEXT, PAC FOOD, and PIP360.

Dan Lantz
PAC NEXT Director

Dan has more than 30 years of experience in end of life materials management. He worked in recycling operations for six years.

Dan teaches the PAC Packaging Circularity course. He was the strategic advisor to the Canadian Plastics Industry Association for 30 years and has written and presented over 100 papers/presentations on waste diversion. Dan has specialist knowledge of EPR and stewardship, package design optimization and recycling program and facility design and operation.

Andrew Macdonald
PAC NEXT Research & Facilitation

Andrew holds a Master of Environmental Studies from York University, and a BA with Honours in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University.

In addition to his work with PAC, Andrew is currently a Lecturer at Ryerson University covering Sustainability in Print & Packaging and continues his own consulting work on sustainable packaging solutions. Andrew previously worked with at-risk youth and has extensive experience in print management.
